Alex 2/18/2007 Take a look on it!!! | Alex 2/18/2007 Take a look on it!!! | Alex 2/18/2007 Take a look on it!!! | Crusing w/Kathy 5/18/2006 Hi all, just wanted to put in a couple of comments about Fishtail Travel and my 1st cruise ever. I went with Fishtail Travel because of all the individual attention I received from the owner, Ted. He took me from choosing the cruise line to packing my bags and yes - documentation! He did a wonderful job and called the minute we got back from the cruise and wanted to know all about it. We choose Carnival, 1st because of the price…we did received a wonderful price for our group, and 2nd because of the locations we got to go to. The Carnival’s Ecstasy was our ship it had been out of refitting for only three trips. I found everything delightful, our cabin boy who kept the cabins clean and loved the towel animals, our waiter at the main dining table – the boy could he sing and dance, and the cruise director - she was full of energy and provided us with lots to do while on the ship. We had a little bad wind the night before we were to port in Progresso, and the Port Authority wouldn’t let us dock, so the cruise line gave us a $25.00 on our “sign and sail card” to spend on the ship…which was fun for me! Cozumel was really nice, with the hurricanes that have hit in that area; there is still work to be done on the docks and in the city, but a lovely place to shop. I understand that the snorkeling was fun and my niece went to swim with the dolphins…an experience she will never forget. Oh yeah, we also were given an extra hour in Cozumel to spend doing what we wanted since we missed out on the land trip with Progresso. But the most memorialable moments were watching the wonderful singers at karaoke every night. Boy did we have the talent in our group - Kim, Lori, and Julie...and the Dugger Boys....they really knew how to put on a show! I just have to say that this was one of the most fun vacations I’ve had in a very long while. I just wanted to say “Thank you” again Ted for helping me pull it all together, I certainly wouldn’t have been able to do it without you. So, out of the 20 people on the cruise with me on this trip, the majority have stated that they wanted to go again! So, look out Fishtail, you might have to do a repeat performance! | Terri Dugger 5/17/2006 Ted,
Here is the response to your questions...sorry I forgot you wanted other feedback.
Best:
1. Well, you have heard mine. It was just nice to not have to cater to anyone for once...but everyone caters to you.
2. The saltwater pool and hottub were a surprise to me...I wasn't really thinking of how they could keep a pool with chlorine, etc.
3. We did not have to go far for any one thing, but did get our exercise in walking which was nice.
4. The food was great...there were enough choices I (with food allergies) could manage to get enough and not have to have the milk/cheese/yogurt/corn products. (I did have to warn my husband that I would not be serving him multiple appetizers/salads/entrees upon arrival back home...much to his dismay...he would need to go on another cruise for that).
5. The Western show exceeded many of our expectations...I thought it was just going to be some country singing and fiddle player...the kind we have here in Kansas. Both the show and fiddler did a great job...we left quite amazed and wanted to return to hear the fiddler the next night because he was so good.
Least:
1. The floors could be color coordinated with the carpet/elevator doors/stairs, etc.
2. Disembarking could have been more understandable...maybe a list of what to do and where to go would be nice...we were asking and everyone seemed very confused.
3. More time while docked would be nice...it seemed like the day was cut by several hours...staying later would have been nice.
For now that is all that comes to mind...and of all these you probably have no control, but maybe you could pass them along.
Thanks! | Jeff & Terri Dugger 5/17/2006 We had a fabulous time!! Especially, for a wife and mother of 2!!! No changing diapers/washing dishes/making dinners,...you get the picture. People need to be warned that reality hits pretty hard upon arrival back. Also, some of us had 'ship lag'...if there is such a thing. I had a motion sick headache for a couple days after, and some others felt like they still had their sea legs for a couple days. We are ready to go again...although my daughter is not ready for us to be gone again for some time. I think she was just a bit too young to leave that long, but she is working through her issues of us leaving.
Thank you again for all your help. | Nina Bennett 5/17/2006 You just let us know "when" and we'll find out "where" on the way! We had such a good time and couldn't have been with a group of nicer people. Wouldn't have I missed going to the Mayan Ruins on Progresso but I'll catch them on another trip. Everything was excellent! More than we ever expected. Have a good day! Look forward to hearing about more cruises! Nina & Norman | Lori Clarida 5/17/2006 Thank you for all of your hard work. The one thing I think would have made the cruise better would be to have 36 hour days instead of 24. :o)
I thought everything was great. I would like to have stopped at more ports. I'm glad we didn't stop at Progresso - I've heard from people that have been there that it isn't a "great" port to stop in.
Other than that - I thoroughly enjoyed myself. | Nina & Norman Bennett 5/17/2006 Well we have been home for about 24 hours [this was sent on May 7th]and we're ready to go back cruising already!!! Norman and I had a great time on our cruise!!! Really enjoyed the group we went with. Met so many nice people! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You !!! |
